Anime Vanguards: Wrathful Assault Wrath Event & Seven Sins
Shining Castle Sin picks, coin payouts, shop familiars, and map placement rules.
The Wrath Event is the centerpiece limited mode of the Wrathful Assault / Wrath’s End update. You fight a 15-wave defense on Shining Castle, pick one of seven Sins before wave one, and earn Wrath Coins plus 3x Battlepass XP every match. Talk to the History’s Strongest NPC in the lobby to queue Normal or Hard. This guide covers every Sin, coin math, shop priorities, no-placement zones, and how the event feeds your Wrath (Assault) unlock plan.
How to start a Wrath Event match
- Open Events or walk to the History’s Strongest NPC.
- Choose Normal or Hard.
- Before wave one, lock a Sin. The Sin stays for the entire run.
- Place around red no-placement zones — they highlight while you are placing.
- Clear all 15 waves to bank coins.
Hard mode enemies have 10x health. Only switch up when your board already stomps Normal.
Wrath Coins: Normal vs Hard
| Difficulty | Enemy health | Wrath Coins per clear | Battlepass XP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Normal | Standard | 100 | 3x |
| Hard | 10x | 200 | 3x |
Coins spend in the Wrath Event shop on Vanguard Familiars, Trait Rerolls, Memoria Shards, Phoenix Shards, Elemental Shards, and Corruption Crystals. Apostles Vs Vanguards survival (25 waves on Land of the Gods) also pays 100 Wrath Coins and is a useful alternate when you want a different loop.
The seven Sins explained
Wrath
Whenever a unit hits an enemy it has already hit, it gains 50% damage for 30 seconds, stacking with no cap. Wrath rewards sticky single-target and multi-hit units that stay on the same tank. Great default for experienced boards that already control the lane.
Pride
You may only have one unit on the field, but it deals 5x damage, gains 50% more range, and can be placed anywhere. Pride is a skill check: bring your strongest solo carry with economy solved through farms if the Sin still allows them, or accept a hyper-focused one-unit clear. Excellent for showcasing Monarch carries.
Greed
The first non-farm unit you upgrade becomes the only non-farm unit you can upgrade that match, but every copy of it deals 4x damage and can be upgraded past its normal max. Greed wants a unit with strong multi-placement or duplicate value. Do not accidentally lock the wrong unit with an early panic upgrade.
Lust
Selling a fully upgraded unit refunds its placement cost and leaves a copy behind that cannot be sold for money or copied again. Lust enables aggressive sell-refill patterns and board resets when you misplace. Plan sell timing; half-upgraded sells do not give the full trick.
Envy
Your strongest non-farm unit loses 30% damage, and all other non-farm units match that damage. Envy equalizes the board. It punishes one over-invested hypercarry and rewards wide boards where every unit hitting the Envy baseline is enough.
Sloth
All enemies move 30% slower. Sloth is the comfort Sin for learning the map, testing placements, and clearing with mid-tier accounts. Slower enemies mean more hits before leaks. Use Sloth when you are practicing Hard routes.
Gluttony
Farms pay out a second time at the end of every wave. Gluttony is the economy Sin. If your clear power is fine but upgrades are late, Gluttony accelerates the board and pairs well with Fortune-traited farms.
Which Sin should you pick?
- Learning the map: Sloth.
- Need money: Gluttony.
- One broken carry: Pride or Greed (know the difference).
- Wide midboard: Envy.
- Sell tech enjoyers: Lust.
- Stacked DPS already online: Wrath.
Rotate Sins across days so you learn failure points. A Sin that works on Normal can still fail on Hard if your upgrade timing collapses.
No-placement zones
Shining Castle marks illegal tiles in red while you place. Ignoring them wastes yen and time. Hover carefully on bridges, decor, and lane edges. Teammate placement previews (added in the same update window) help co-op groups avoid stacking into dead tiles. If a strategy guide shows a spot you cannot click, it is probably inside a no-placement zone or a patched collision change.
Shop priority: familiars at 1,000 Wrath Coins
Five new Vanguard Familiars cost 1,000 Wrath Coins each. Buy for units you actually play:
- Holy Sword — Saber (King of Knights); Excalibur on placement; Crimson Moon follow-ups.
- Iron Helmet — The Falcon; Sacrificed stacks and Unholy Transformation.
- Blacksmith’s Hammer — The Smith (Forged); farm conversion, damage, Hunter Quest.
- Scrap Bluntsword — NotGoodGuy (Free); Dragon Install and reworked Hell.
- Witch’s Staff — Medea (Witch of Betrayal); Oathbreaker and Dragon Fang Army.
After the familiars you need, dump surplus into Trait Rerolls and Memoria Shards. Those currencies stay useful after the event ends. Elemental and Corruption resources matter for long-term crafting — buy them when your familiar checklist is done.
Hard mode is literally double coins. Ten Normal clears equal five Hard clears for raw coins, but Hard takes stronger comps. Farm Normal for familiar #1, then graduate.
Event XP and the Wrath unlock
Because every match pays 3x Battlepass XP, Wrath Event is not only a coin farm. Players chasing Tier 50 should mix event clears with Warfront and Pirate Dynasty from How to Get Wrath (Assault). Coins buy power; XP buys the Exclusive.
Team tips for Shining Castle
- Bring a farm unless Pride locks you out of a wide economy plan.
- Cover the main path before fancy backline flex placements.
- Save burst for boss spikes on later waves.
- On Hard, over-invest early; 10x health punishes greedy late ramps.
- If you already own Evils pieces, practice the buff windows you will use with Wrath later — see Evils Teams.

Session checklist

- Clear Normal until you can finish without leaks.
- Buy the familiar for your most-used eligible unit.
- Use leftover coins on rerolls and shards.
- Count the 3x XP toward Tier 50.
